Steve Tarini

Professional educator, author and keynote speaker Steve Tarani has served the United States Defense, Law Enforcement and Intelligence communities for over 25 years as a respected Protective Programs subject matter expert and service provider to numerous high/ low-profile federal agencies. Specializing in operational readiness, he is a federally certified force options instructor actively contracted by the US Department of Defense (DoD), National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and throughout the private sector.

Mr. Tarani, formerly sworn in the states of California and Nevada, is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, protective programs educator and formerly on staff at the US Department of Energy (DOE) National Security Institute (Security Force Training Dept.) at Kirtland Air Force Base (NM). At the time of this writing, he is a published author of eight books, an active protective agent, remains an adviser to the US Department of Justice (USDOJ), US Department of Defense, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and is a member of InfraGard in good standing.

Detective Rudy Perez

Detective Rudy Perez is a 15-year veteran of the Los Angeles School Police Department. He has worked a variety of assignments including policing High School and Middle School campuses, day and night patrol, interagency task forces, gang detail unit, bike patrol, and training unit. Rudy is currently working as a Detective in an investigative division (Threat Assessment Unit).

Detective Perez holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Management and has completed dozens of specialized and advanced officer training courses including Patrol Combat Tactics, Social Networks Investigations, Gang Investigation Course, and Tactical Communications.

In addition, he sits on several national boards and organizations having to do with law enforcement. These include the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), where he is a national and international instructor and NASRO practitioner, and the National Association of School Security Law Enforcement Officials (NASSLEO), where he has been working to develop the next generation of training courses addressing serious issues such as gangs, bullying, campus conflict resolution, SRO survival, active shooter incidents, leadership and other topics ensuring the effectiveness of school safety programs across the nation. He has lectured at Pepperdine University under the direction of Dr. Bernie James, professor of law, in regards to school based laws.

Detective Perez is co-founder of the charity The Friends of Safe Schools U.S.A., which supports the efforts of safety and education across the country. He is also involved as a member of several other organizations dedicated to supporting law enforcement, families of law enforcement, education and child/student development such as the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC).

Michael Oberuch

He is a Supervisory Emergency Management Speicalist and a ICS Support Capabilities Coordinator with the United States Capitol Police, as well as a Adjunct Assistant Professor with the University of Maryland University College.
